APEC International is global web-based platform working to reduce maternal and perinatal health inequities relating to pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders through improving education and awareness. We facilitate reciprocal learning connecting global communities to improve outcomes for women and babies.
About Action on Pre-eclampsia
Action on Pre-eclampsia (APEC) International aims to raise public and professional awareness of pre-eclampsia, improve care, and ease or prevent physical and emotional suffering caused by the disease.
History of APEC
Action on Pre-eclampsia (UK) was set up in 1991 by Isabel Walker and Professor Chris Redman.
Isabel lost her first baby as a result of pre-eclampsia and was surprised to find out that there was no information and support for women who had suffered like her.
